John Conroy is a Los Angeles-based writer, marketing & PR consultant, producer and performer. He’s written numerous published articles and essays and guest-lectured at USC’s Annenberg School of Communications. As the award-winning director of the Digital Entertainment division for Rogers & Cowan, John provided film, music, technology, and corporate entertainment public relations counsel for such clients as Microsoft and Napster. For the past several years he’s represented the Los Angeles Times for everything from on-going media relations to orchestrating PR campaigns around the annual Festival of Books, Hero Complex Film Festival and Envelope Screening Series. John also works the red carpets for numerous entertainment events including the Grammy and Academy Awards, after which he is frequently spotted looking dapper and vaguely important in TV coverage around the globe.
John regularly performs at the iO West Theatre in Los Angeles with the award-winning EXTRA-STRENGTH and Spin-Off Cinema and created The Dick & The Dame: Improv Noir with Stacy Rumaker as well as the Twitter-inspired all-star ensemble Top Twending Topics. He is also the House DJ, an improv coach, and for the past two years executive producer of the Del Close Awards. His extensive writing and comedy training includes The Groundlings, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Upright Citizens Brigade, Second City and Alexandra Billings.
In his spare time he can be seen being dragged around Los Feliz by Archie (Leach) Conroy, his cartoonishly huge Olde English Bulldogge.
